Asymptotic behavior of a frequency-domain nonlinearity indicator for solutions to the generalized Burgers equation.
A frequency-domain nonlinearity indicator has previously been characterized for two analytical solutions to the generalized Burgers equation (GBE) [Reichman, Gee, Neilsen, and Miller, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 139, 2505-2513 (2016)], including an analytical, asymptotic expression for the Blackstock Bridging Function. This letter gives similar old-age analytical expressions of the indicator for the Me...
متن کاملAsymptotic Behavior of Solutions of Time-delayed Burgers’ Equation
In this paper, we consider the Burgers’ equation with a time delay. By using the Liapunov function method, we show that the delayed Burgers’ equation is exponentially stable if the delay parameter is sufficiently small. We also give an explicit estimate of the delay parameter in term of the viscosity and the initial condition, which indicates that the delay parameter tends to zero if the initia...
متن کاملThe Asymptotic Behavior of Solutions of Forced Burgers Equation on the Circle
We describe the asymptotic behaviour of entropy solutions of unviscid Burgers equation on the circle with time-periodic forcing. These solutions converge to periodic states, but the period of these limit states may be greater than the period of the forcing. We obtain as a corollary a new result on the flow of the associated Hamiltonian system.

where up in Eq. (2) corresponds to u(jôx, not) in Eq. (1), and where a = cSt/Sx. Here öt and Sx are the time and space intervals, respectively. We consider the case — co < x < », í > 0. It was shown by Courant, Friedrichs, and Lewy in a wellknown paper [1] that if up and u,x are prescribed for ally, then the computational process represented by Eq. (2) will yield values for w/ which converge to...
متن کاملSome asymptotic limits for solutions of Burgers equation
§1 – Introduction. In this paper, we compute the limits (1) γ p = lim t → ∞ t 1 2 (1 − 1 p) u(·, t) p , 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞ for solutions u(·, t) of the equation (2) u t + a u x + b u u x = c u xx satisfying the Cauchy condition (3) u(x, 0) = u 0 (x), u 0 ∈ L 1 (R), that is, u(·, t) − u 0 1 → 0 as t → 0, t > 0. Here, u(·, t) p denotes the L p norm of u(·, t) as a function of x for fixed t, i.e., (4) u(·,...
